Empowering people to take care of their health on all levels Mind, Body and Spirit
What is a Naturopathic Physician?
Naturopathic physicians (NMDs or NDs) attend a four-year
naturopathic medical school after graduating from college
and completing medical prerequisites. They are trained in
naturopathic and conventional outpatient settings and in
some cases, medical residencies. State board exams are
required for licensure and continuing medical education for
annual license renewal.
Naturopathic physicians are trained to use diet, exercise,
mind-body medicine , nutritional supplements, botanical
medicine, natural hormone replacement therapy, prescription
medications, homeopathy, acupuncture, physical manipulation,
and minor surgery.
Naturopathic Principles
- The Healing Power of Nature - The body has an innate drive to heal itself
- Identify and Treat the Cause - Treat the root of the problem, not just the symptoms.
- First Do No Harm - Use the least invasive modalities appropriate to patient’s vitality level
- Doctor as Teacher - Empower and educate patients to take care of their health
- Treat the Whole Person - Treat body, mind and spirit as one
